HOF Players Events have been lending a hand to help coordinate and raise funds for Shinsky Orphanage in Matamoras, MX.  Its founder, John Shinsky, is the college roommate and dear friend of Joe DeLamielleure (Joe D.); Pro Football Hall of Famer/ Buffalo Bill.

Joe D. himself has two adopted children in addition to his four biological children.  The story is told that during their freshman year in college John Shinsky told Joe D. that after growing up as an orphan when he could he wanted to create an orphanage so of course Joe D. said “count me in”. To help John accomplish his dream and complete the 12 building, 33,000 square foot facility that will provide a home, food, safety, love, education, bilingual and vocational training for hundreds of children who are abandoned, physically, sexually, and emotionally abused.  Joe D. has lent his name in any way that would assist.  In April 2009 John, Joe D. and another roommate from college Eljay Brown (former Director of the Secret Service) all made the 2000 cross country bike ride to raise funds to complete the orphanage.

What you don’t know is that Joe D. had never owned or ever even ridden a bike until six weeks prior to this ride. He also wore a football helmet on the ride rather than a bike helmet. CBS coverage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8PBmUqkDSI&feature=player_embedded

Update on our Hormonal Replacement Therapy treatments

We have learned without sufficient levels of hormones the body’s systems become depleted, out of balance and simply cannot function well. (BHRT) therapy supports cardiovascular health, bone density, preserves muscle mass, brain health and function helping preserve short term memory, focus and concentration along with stability of moods. Working in partnership with your body, hormone replacement therapy recreates healthy balance and essential support to ones body’s vital organs and systems.

Since October of 2013 several members of the HOF Players Foundation are participating in SottoPelle hormone replacement therapy and having noticeable improvement and this month SottoPelle made a blanketed offer to treat any HOF and/or NFL Player under a national agreement that will allow any Player and/or their wives treatment at a minimal cost.

Maybe this sounds odd to an outsider that “Men of the Gridiron receiving Hormonal Treatment” but for those of us that know the truth, see the side effects daily how the hits have affected their daily lives, we can’t thank Dr. Tutera and SottoPelle enough for what the treatment is doing for these men. NO, I am not saying it is a cure or will reverse the effects of the damage done. I am saying first hand I, the players, their wives and families are seeing these men living life again without another prescription drug to get them through the day.

Sometimes you are introduced to individuals that instantly take your breath away. Not because of beauty – that’s only skin deep. We mean because of heart, inner being that makes you step back and say “WOW…now that is the real deal, we admire them.”

Recently we had the pleasure of getting to know Brad & Liz Soden the other day and instantly knew we, HOF Players Foundation, wanted to be associated with them. Brad is the creator of the TANKCHAIR which if you’re a fan of Bill O’Reilly you for sure have seen and/or heard O’Reilly speak of the TANKCHAIR and all the great work Brad and Liz are doing for veterans around the country.

Stay tuned because we have big plans with the TANKCHAIR at the upcoming 2015 Super Bowl in Phoenix, AZ. In the meantime take time to get to know Brad and Liz so you understand why we are making them part of our team. http://www.tankchair.com

January 2014

It is a known fact that many who have played in the NFL complain of memory loss, anxiety, lack of concentration, unable to sleep throughout the night, mood swings and lack of energy.
In late summer of 2013 one of our HOF Players, Paul Krause, had gone into severe depression… a funk that I had seen many other players go in and out of over the years; a place that always makes you concerned and unsure how to help. I had been speaking with numerous doctors involved with the current medical issues all over the news regarding athlete’s health after concussions, and knowing that Paul had over 18 concussions during his career red flags were going up. During one of the conversations I was told by a doctor that hormonal imbalance accelerated depression and anxiety, mood swings, etc. Being a female I all too easily could relate.

My research of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) led me to speak with Dr. Gino Tutera at SottoPelle, which means “under the skin” in Italian. Dr. Tutera is one of the founders and leaders in this area. His research is noted worldwide and recently showed amazing results not only for athlete’s cognitive, emotional and physical health but also Parkinson’s Patients. www.SottoPelle.com

I have to say my first conversation with a Pro Football Hall of Fame Player regarding receiving hormonal replacement therapy would make one hell of a comedy routine but thank goodness Paul Krause was open minded. His only request was that I too receive the treatment and in fall of 2013 he and I both started undergoing HRT treatment. Again, when he and I recount for friends is priceless… seriously, what other woman has ever told you she and a Pro Football HOF Player decided to get “hormone treatments” together? Our first mistake was filling out our medical questionnaire together…”TMI”. Next time Paul will remember to bring his glasses so I don’t need to read the questions to him over lunch.

The results in him were apparent within 72 hours of our treatment. He called me and said “Wow! I feel great. I am sleeping a solid six hours – hadn’t done that in 15yrs, and I feel comfortable in my skin… I like me again.” As for me, I noticed within thirty six hours in him a calmness; he was smiling again and looking forward to the upcoming appearances we had planned for the HOF Players at the 2013 Super Bowl in NY. As for me – within 6hrs no hot flashes, sleeping like a rock and best of all my family “like me again…I’m not “Witchy Poo” any longer.

Will keep you updated on the progress.

JOE DELAMIELLEURE WALKS THE WALK & TALKS THE TALK FOR PROSTHETICS

Joe DeLamielleure “Joey D” always said that he would come to the Enshrinement Ceremonies even if he had to walk to Canton, OH. On Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 10am, Joe “D” will begin a 213 mile walk, starting at the 50 yard line of Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, NY, and ending on the steps of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH, on Saturday, July 20, 2013. The purpose of Joe’s walk is to raise awareness and support for the GRACE’S LAMP organization of Charlotte, NC, who assist young children that grow out of their prosthetic legs but cannot afford the high cost of new adult prosthetic legs.
